Darien, Ga., burned by the Federals. 12th.--General Couch assumed command of the Department of the Susquehanna, and called out the militia. Lee commenced hi movement up the Rappahannock, preparatory to his march into Pennsylvania; his forces were estimated at 98,04)0. Johnston still continued to mass forces, with the intention to attack the rear of Grant's army.
