Not illustrated. 1870 Excerpt: ...or other inferior court in a city, and docketed in the office of the clerk of the county, the application for leave to issue execution must he to the county court of the county where the judgment was rendered, or, in the city and county of New York, to the court of common pleas of that city and county. g 285. Where a judgment requires the payment of money or the delivery of real or personal property, the same may he enforced in those respects hy execution, as provided in this title. Where it requires the performance of any other act, a certified copy of the judgment may he served upon the party against whom It is given, or the person or officer who is required therehy, or hy law, to ohey thesame, and his ohedience thereto enforced. If he refuse, he may he punished hy the court as for a contempt. g 280. There shall he three kinds of execution; one against the property of the judgment dehtor; another against his person; and the third for the delivery of the possession of real or personal property, or such delivery with damages for withholding the same. They shall he deemed the process of the court, hut they need not he sealed nor suhscrihed, except as prescrihed in section 289. g 'S7. When the execution is against the property of the judgment dehtor, it may he issued to the sheriff of any county where judgment is docketed. When it requires the delivery of real or personal property it must he issued to the sheriff of the county where the property, or some part thereof, is situated. Executions may he issued at the same time to different counties. Real property adjudged to he sold must he sold in the county where it lies, hy the sheriff of the county, or hy a referee appointed hy the court for that purpose, and thereupon the sheriff or referee must execute a con...
