About the Book

This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1900. Of three mortgages that might be given on the same property the same week or day, the first one that is recorded is first mortgage, no difference whether it was written first or last. All mortgages and other instruments registered must be verified by affidavit in proper form of a subscribing witness present at the time of the signing. The Torrens system is now in force in Manitoba, Ontario and the North-West Territories. (See Section 355.) It ...
