Review :
Now in its fourth edition, this textbook provides a comprehensive and very accessible introduction to human cognition—from perception through attention, memory, thinking, language, and emotion. Uniquely, together with describing normal cognitive processes, it covers corresponding disorders of cognition. It is exceptionally clearly written and up to date, well suited to college and university introductory courses on cognition. Indeed, it is a great place to begin for anyone with an interest in how the mind works! — Colin M. MacLeod, PhD FRSC, Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Waterlo This book offers a superbly edited overview of the basics of cognitive psychology from the different perspectives of a variety of experts. It also stands out against traditional textbooks in this area in that it provides an engaging and unique approach by including a comprehensive review of the disorders associated with each area of cognitive psychology. This is something I think students will fully appreciate and find helpful and relevant." — Steve Charlton, Douglas College and Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Canada In this revised 4th Edition, David Groome and his expert contributors have created a comprehensive and clearly-presented textbook. The four separate chapters on ‘disorders’ are an excellent feature of the book. — Vicki Bruce, Professor of Psychology and former Head of the School of Psychology at Newcastle University 'Now in its fourth edition, this textbook provides a comprehensive and very accessible introduction to human cognition—from perception through attention, memory, thinking, language, and emotion.
