Eisele died May 12, 1912, at his home in Logan, Ohio, where all of his life with the exception of six years spent in business at McArthur, had been passed. lle came from Wurtemburg, Germany, at the age of five years, he having been born in 1849. In 1866 he commenced learning the trade in the R. B. Higgins shop, going to McArthur in 1874 in partnership with R. B. Higgins. Returning in 1880 he went into partnership with his brother-in-law, Charles McLain, under the name of Eisele & McLain, which partnership continued till Mr. McLain's failing health compelled the latter's retirement several years ago, since which time Mr. Elsele has been conducting the business alone. As noted elsewhere the business has been sold by the widow to Brandt & Mount. W. H. Skeeles, well known to the marble men of Rutland and Fairhaven, Vt., and who had been in the business at these places for many years, died of pneumonia at the Rutland hospital, May 25, 1912. Clark W. Hills, aged 68, for many years in the monument business in Jackson, Mich., and who has been a familiar figure at the meetings of the state and national associations, died at his home there May 21, 1912. He went to Jackson in 1868 and had always taken an active part in city affairs. Thomas Mitchell, well known granite manufacturer and polisher of Quincy, Mass., died at his home in that city May 19, 1912, just a week after the polishing plant bearing his name was nearly destroyed by fire, although he had not been actively connected with the business for some time on account of failing health. Vith the deaths in Barre, Vt., within a few hours of each other, of Alexander S. Bird and James M. Fraser, last month, two men passed away whose names have been linked with the history...
