Deng, and its comp. deuddeng and pymtheng, which are mostly used before words beginning radically with g, d, m, n, or a vowel, govern the nasal of rf; middle of r; and radical of m. (a) It is very probable that deng formerly governed g in the nasal, and that such phrases as deng wr, deng air, Sfc., were written deng ngwr, deng ngair,: . 497.
