About the Author :
Mathieu Deflem is Professor of Sociology at the University of South Carolina, USA, and previously held positions at Kenyon College and Purdue University. His interests include international police cooperation, surveillance, popular culture and sociological theory, censorship, and law. To date, he has authored four books, including The Policing of Terrorism (2010) and Sociology of Law (2008).
