Confessions of a Five-Chambered Heart is the follow-up to Caitlín R. Kiernan's World Fantasy Award-nominated The Ammonite Violin & Others, a collection that drew comparisons to the writings of such luminaries of the macabre and surreal as Angela Carter, Thomas Ligotti, Shirley Jackson, and Harlan Ellison.
Here, again, in her eighth collection, we visit the borderlands where the weird, horrific, mythic, and erotic intersect. Once again, Kiernan sets her masterful, intoxicating prose to the task of retelling fairy tales, spinning sensual post-Lovecraftian yarns, and blurring the lines between pain and pleasure.

About the Author :
Caitlín R. Kiernan was born near Dublin, Ireland, but has spent most of her life in the southeastern United States. In 1992, she began writing her first novel, The Five of Cups (it remained unpublished until 2003). She is a prolific short fiction author, and her award-winning short stories have been collected in numerous volumes. Her short science fiction novel The Dry Salvages was published in 2004.
Jayme Mattler is a professional voiceover artist with years of experience in recording, directing, and producing. Passionate about narrating audiobooks, she has been the recipient of multiple Audie Award nominations. Suzanne Toren has performed on Broadway, in regional theaters, and on television. She has also recorded over nine hundred audiobooks, earning more than two dozen Earphones Awards from AudioFile magazine.
Lauren Ezzo is a Chicago-based audiobook narrator and commercial voice talent. A Michigan native and Hope College alumna, at this writing she has narrated over 100 titles for authors including Catherine Ryan Hyde, Georgia Clark, Adam Rapp, M. Dressler, Christopher Rice, Kirk Lynn, Lauren James, and Dot Hutchison. She has won multiple awards for her narration, including several "Best of the Year" lists, and several Earphones Awards. In 2016, her performance of The Light Fantastic, by Sarah Combs, conarrated with Todd Haberkorn, was named one of AudioFile's best books of the year. She was accorded the same honor in 2017 from School Library Journal for her narration of To Stay Alive: Mary Ann Graves and the Tragic Journey of the Donner Party. In 2018, she was Audie Award-nominated as part of a full cast of narrators for Best Original Work, Nevertheless We Persisted, performing two pieces-one of which she authored. She is a proud member of the Audio Publishers Association, and a lifelong bookworm. Bronson Pinchot is an Earphones and Audie Award-winning narrator and Audible's Narrator of the Year for 2010.
Lisa Flanagan is an award-winning audiobook narrator, voice actor, director, improviser, and classical soprano based in New York City. Her voice-over work includes animation, video games, and commercials. Lisa has received multiple AudioFile Earphones Awards and Voice Arts Awards, including Best Audiobook Narration, Children's for Disney-Pixar's WALL-E. Robert Fass is a veteran actor and twice winner of the prestigious Audie Award for best narration. He has earned multiple Earphones Awards and been named in AudioFile magazine's list of the year's best narrations for six years.
Lorna Bennett is a British classically trained actor and alumna of the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). She has narrated books for HarperAudio, Blackstone Publishing, Disney, Dreamscape Media, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Chelsea Green Publishing, Harlequin, Podium, Realm (previously Serial Box), Apple News+, and Audible. Additionally, Lorna has worked internationally in film, TV, and theater, with screen credits including New Amsterdam (NBC), Torchwood (BBC), and Stuart: A Life Backwards (HBO/BBC), and on stage has portrayed numerous classical roles, including Hedda Gabler, Titania, Beatrice, and Portia. Gabra Zackman is an actress and Earphones Award-winning narrator.
Kevin Kenerly, an Earphones Award-winning narrator, earned a BA at Olivet College. A longtime member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, he has acted in more than twenty seasons, playing dozens of roles.
