One Drum: Stories and Ceremonies for a Planet

Fans of Richard Wagamese's writing will be heartened by the news that the bestselling author left behind a manuscript he'd been working on until shortly before his death in 2017. In One Drum, Wagamese wrote, "I am not a shaman. Nor am I an elder, a pipe carrier, or a celebrated traditionalist. "When that happens," he wrote, "we truly become one song and one drum beating together in a common purpose--and we are on the path to being healed." About the Author :
Richard Wagamese (1955-2017), an Ojibway from the Wabaseemoong First Nation in northwestern Ontario, is recognized as one of Canada's foremost authors and storytellers. He wrote seventeen books including the national bestsellers Embers: One Ojibway's Meditations and Indian Horse, the People's Choice winner in the 2013 Canada Reads competition. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from both Thompson Rivers University and Lakehead University. Christian Baskous is an AudioFile Earphones Award-winning narrator. His theatrical credits include numerous roles in the New York Shakespeare Festival, Circle in the Square, the Kennedy Center, and Theater for the New City, as well as other regional theaters. His film and television work includes appearances in Glory, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Law & Order, Swan's Crossing, and Swift Justice.
