About the Book

OUTER SPACE IS NOT A SAFE SPACE. It is the year 2869 Æx., and the sun is setting on humanity's golden age. The once glorious Convergency has fallen into the hands of a corrupt elite, and a lone corporation has seized limitless power over the innocent citizens of the galaxy. But when a noble marshal, a lowly temple harlot and a band of unlikely allies find themselves caught in the middle of an insidious conspiracy, it seems that tyranny may have met its match. Part adventure, part political thriller, "The Aetherverse" artfully blends pop culture with politics and just a hint of "Barbarella," telling the story of a democracy fallen and a tragic history dangerously repeated.

About the Author :
Joseph (Joey) D'Urso is a born-and-raised Long Islander living far from home, and despite his relocation, he has yet to lose his New York accent. He was born to a loud Italian-American family and takes great pride in his surname's apostrophe. Creative even from elementary school, he has been writing fiction longer than he cares to remember. His published novels include "Devils in Sunday Hats," a tale of redemption, coming-of-age and the death of the American dream, and "The Aetherverse," an incendiary space opera for troubled times. Aside from writing fiction, Joey is an avid saxophone player, having played alto sax for over 15 years. He also has an intense interest in languages (both real and fictional) and graduated from Binghamton University with a BA in Arabic. Joseph (Joey) D'Urso and Eugene Bryan, the politically incorrect creators of "The Aetherverse" and the novelette series "Aethertales," first met at Binghamton University in 2008. D'Urso, an Italian American from Long Island, NY, received a BA in the Arabic language. Bryan, an Argentine American living in South Florida, obtained two BAs in History and Political Science, and a Master of Science, becoming a scientist of global strategic communications. Even during their undergraduate studies, D'Urso and Bryan spoke out against the absurdity of leftism by contributing to the Binghamton Review, Binghamton University's conservative student newspaper. Bryan even received open calls for violence against him by triggered liberal arts students. With article titles such as "LASU: SA Sponsored Terrorism?" and "You Call This Culture? LASU's Dirty Secret," it was inevitable that someone on campus would be offended. D'Urso and Bryan are outspoken critics of the current state of political and social affairs in the United States and seek to spark a dialog that can change the unfortunate status quo. "The Aetherverse" reflects their views, often in a heavy-handed but honest manner; writing a novel was their best means of speaking out and making a difference, and they hope that it will inspire others to stand up against the insidious mentality that is slowly eroding the fabric of this society.
