About the Book

There I Was: A Veteran Remembers is a novel consisting of a series of short stories that illustrate the hazards, hardships and humor that chronicled my life in the US Air Force and the Boy Scouts of America as well as a few other humorous stories. In over 20 years in the USAF I served in three combat zones starting from the lowest enlisted ranks during the post-Vietnam era to completing my career at the Pentagon at the prestigious Joint Staff. I earned my commission from the Air Force Academy and then earned my pilot wings and flew and served in an increasing leadership role through the Cold War, Persian Gulf War, immediate response to 9/11 and height of the Afghanistan War. I also served in the Bosnia/Kosovo combat zone. Additionally, I served as a flying squadron commander and as a US Presidential Advance Agent. I was a big witness of many adventures and some will say misadventures during my formative years and an important period of the US' serurity history. There I was: A Veteran Remembers weaves both a "little hyperbole" and humor into both the facts and art of storytellying. The book follows my adventures to seven continents. There I Was: A Veteran Remembers is a must read, suitable for all ages and is a required part of everyon's library.
