About the Book

Every case leaves a mark. Some tear you apart.

Detective Nathan Kessler has built his legacy on reading crime scenes like open books-pulling meaning from blood spatter, dust patterns, and silence. But when a string of meticulously staged murders shakes the city, the patterns go quiet. No links between the victims. No motive. Just a chilling signature that suggests careful planning... and an intimate knowledge of investigative procedure.

The deeper Kessler digs, the more the case resists. Evidence vanishes. Leads dissolve. His instincts falter. And the mounting pressure from the department begins to weigh heavier than ever before.

As the investigation escalates, so do Kessler's doubts-about the case, his colleagues, and even his own past. Old wounds reopen. Long-buried memories resurface. And with each new discovery, Kessler begins to wonder:

Is he chasing the killer-or is the killer chasing him?

About the Author :
They say that the pen is mightier than the sword. While he hasn't slain any dragons (yet), Brad Trew has been known to throw a few daggers in his day. Born in Toronto, Canada to Irish parents, Brad spent much of his career as an investigator, uncovering truths, and most importantly, telling the stories in an industry where words matter. He lives with his beautiful wife Diane and their boxer/bulldog Rosie.

Review :

"This gripping crime novel kept me hooked from start to finish-I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it in a single day. The story masterfully blends suspense and intrigue, keeping you guessing at every turn. What sets it apart from other detective stories is the unique twist on the main character-you're never quite sure whether the detective is the hero he believes himself to be until deep into the narrative. The writing is sharp, the pacing relentless, and the tension perfectly maintained, making it a must-read for fans of the genre."

"Toronto The Good is an old moniker for the city. There is still a lot of good thriving in Toronto. Detective Nathan Kessler doesn't get to see much of that side of the town. His years in homicide and traditional shoe leather investigation police work have scarred him. The new murders on the streets are taxing both his body, soul and mind. Brad Trew has written a dark and interesting detective thriller novel. The story moves quickly even as the serial murders become more complicated and personal. The book is a gripping story of a detective searching for a killer. But how do you search for a killer that might be a shadow? This is Brad's first novel and I'm looking forward to read more."
