About the Book

''Gianfranco is the anti-christ of traditional CRM and small thinking'' Dickon Laws, Global Head of Innovation, Ogilvy Everybody seems to be an expert and wants to write a book to essentially do one of these things Promote themselves Promote their business Promote their bank balance They want to write a book about something. In Pursuit of The Trivial is different. Inspired by Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza and a 'show about nothing', Gianfranco decided to write a book about nothing. Well not quite about nothing because after all he has been in the CRM and Data space for over 20 years both agency and client side, and wanted to share some of the useful things he has picked up on the way but perhaps in a slightly more engaging way. So don't be fooled by chapter titles such as Why are Basketball Players Tall? The Day I Stopped Eating Pizza for Six Months On Average Switzerland is Flat You might pick up a few tips around CRM, Personalisation, Customer Journey Planning and Data Strategy. There might be a few jokes, anecdotes and his mother's recipe for Lasagne - and to be honest that's worth the RRP on its own.

About the Author :
With a first degree in Astrophysics, it seems counterintuitive to think that Gianfranco would spend the next 25 years in the world of CRM, data, personalisation and loyalty. It has, however, given him the opportunity to explain that engaging with customers in a relevant way need not be rocket science! Having spanned both agency and brand roles in his career he has had the opportunity to work with brands such as Disney, BMW, easyJet, Aesop, Avon International and Dr. Martens. His experience includes CRM and customer strategy; data strategy; marketing automation and CDP implementations. He has built CRM and Data teams both agency and client side

Review :
'Gianfranco is the anti-christ of traditional CRM and small thinking. I hugely admire his ability to be innovative within the often-maligned discipline of CRM. Thinking about it in ways that bust myths and break it out of e-mail and DM stereotypes. He makes it accessible, effective and - surprisingly - inspiring! '' Dickon Laws, Global Head of Innovation, Ogilvy ''Gianfranco is a fantastic, passionate innovator who naturally engages his audiences in a memorable way. He is great at explaining complex situations in simple ways and answering difficult questions in a thorough, logical and engaging manner. A memorable highlight on the programme, the audience makes a point of coming to hear his perspective on a particular subject matter, with a tangible buzz before it happens! '' Georgina Durleva, Conference Director, Savant Events
