About the Book

This book explains microbial roles for agricultural sustainability especially under climatic changes including role of microorganisms in sustainable agriculture. Major coverage entails role of microbial enzymatic roles in agriculture, microbial phytohormones as promising plant sustainable bioagents, phosphate, potassium and calcium solubilizing microbes as alternative bio-fertilizers. It introduces microbial solutions to mitigate the biotic and abiotic stress, with high attention to temperature rising, and water limitation due to the climatic changes. Present a summarized insight into important roles of microbes in facing the climatic changes Describes Plant-Microbes interaction in sustainability Highlights roles of microorganisms in limited agriculture water sources Provide an insight into Microbial phytohormones as promising plant-sustainable bioagent Comprehensive overviews of Microbial bioremediation roles for soil reclamation This book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in microbiology, agriculture and sustainability.

About the Author :
Ghada Abd-Elmonsef Mahmoud is an associate professor of applied microbiology in the Botany & Microbiology Department, Faculty of Science, Assiut University. She got her M.Sc in microbiology entitled “Biodegradation of Hydrocarbons by Fungi” in 2013. She got her PhD in microbiology entitled “Isolation and Characterization of Microorganisms Producing Vitamins” in 2016. Her main research interest; plant growth promoting microorganisms, isolation and identification of different microorganisms, taxonomic ranking of bioactive materials-producing microorganisms, enhancement of metabolic production efficiency of microorganisms, biodegradation of the environmental pollutants, functional impact of genetically modified microorganisms, molecular biology and metabolic profiling of pathogenic microorganisms, biosynthesis of nanoparticles from microorganisms and their use as novel active antifungal agents. Bikash Kumar is currently working as a National Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore, He received his BSc (Hons-2012) and MSc (Distinction-2014) in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (A Central University) and Pondicherry Central University, respectively. Later, in 2014, he worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Rajasthan, India. In 2015, he enrolled for PhD and started his research at the Bioprocess and Bioenergy Laboratory under the research supervision of Prof Pradeep Verma from the Department of Microbiology, Central University of Rajasthan, India. Post PhD, he worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. His work is focused on the development of biomass pretreatment technologies and microbial enzyme production (cellulases, laccase, xylanases) for greener energy and environment.
