His research group, Nanomaterials and Applications Lab, works in the areas of synthesis of various nanomaterials, including carbon nanotubes, graphene, metal oxides, and boron nitride nanostructures, and their applications in field emitters, batteries, capacitors, sensors, nanogenerators, and coatings. Amrita De Adhikari is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Roorkee, India. She has also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel. She obtained her PhD and MSc degrees from the Department of Chemistry at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and her bachelor's degree (BS. Hons in Chemistry) from the University of Burdwan, India. Her research interests include the synthesis of 2D and 3D materials (graphene, dichalcogenides, MXenes, MOFs, etc.) and also various organic and inorganic nanostructures for energy storage applications. To date, she has 23 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 1 book chapter (in press), and aims to contribute more to the betterment of the scientific community. Souvik Ghosh is presently a Postdoctoral Fellow at SUNY Upstate Medical University, New York, USA, where he studies to understand how mechanical forces influence the behaviour of cells in the eye. He earned his PhD in Bioscience and Bioengineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), India, where his research focused on synthesis and characterization of carbon nanofiller-reinforced polymeric composite scaffolds for nerve tissue engineering, employing techniques such as solvent casting and electrospinning. He received his MSc degree in Biological Science from Presidency University, India, and his BSc degree in Zoology from Burdwan University, India. He also served as a Project Fellow for one year in a DST-SERB-sponsored project and as a Project Fellow for one year at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, India. He has authored 32 peer-reviewed articles and has contributed to three conference proceedings and four book chapters. He also holds authorship on four patent applications filed with the Indian Patent Office. Rita Joshi is presently a Commissioned Researcher at the Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, Japan. During her PhD, she worked as a project fellow on an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)-funded project, focusing on spacecraft coatings for antistatic applications. She holds a Master’s degree in Physics from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Kumaun University, Uttarakhand, India. Her research interests include thin film coatings and nanocomposites for applications such as energy harvesting/storage, charge dissipation, and EMI shielding. To date, she has published seven research papers, contributed to three book chapters, and holds one Indian patent. She is passionate about translating lab research into real-world applications and aims to make a lasting impact in science and technology. Satish Jaiswal is presently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Dublin City University, Ireland. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MMED) at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), India. He has a strong passion for the development of novel biomaterial systems for bone tissue engineering applications. In addition, he has worked extensively on polymeric/ceramic nanocomposite development using various nanomaterials as reinforcement for structural/engineering applications. He obtained his Master of Technology degree in Materials Engineering specialization from MMED, IITR, and a Bachelor of Technology degree (passed with honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India. To date, he has more than 27 peer-reviewed publications in the form of journal articles and book chapters. Additionally, he holds four Indian patents. He is dedicated to contributing further to the development of novel materials systems in order to tackle the current challenges in the health and engineering industries. Debrupa Lahiri is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and also as Joint Faculty Member in the Centre for Nanotechnology, IIT Roorkee, India. She has received her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Florida International University, USA, MTech from IIT Kanpur, India, in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and BE from Bengal Engineering College, India (IIEST), in Metallurgical Engineering.
