About the Book

Nothing stirs the soul like jealousy and greed...

During the late nineteen sixties, two vastly different worlds collide, and a rollercoaster journey begins for an intriguing young couple.

Gio, the guilt-ridden fugitive from Switzerland, works in Rome's Candle Light Club and struggles to make ends meet. But he has bold plans to elevate himself and sets out to live his dream through the boxing world. However, this handsome and likeable young upstart soon finds that boxing and the nightlife scene make an effervescent cocktail.

But managing this routine is not the only difficulty in Gio's life.

The beautiful heiress, Sofia, is much maligned by her jealous brother, who has been passed over in their father's will. By nature, Tony is ill-tempered, selfish and downright unkind - particularly to Sofia. But, heavily in debt to the mob through his gambling addiction, the beleaguered brother shows his changeable side once too often, and an old family friend draws the line!

Jealousy and greed lead to extortion and murder. Gio gets entangled after a dark shadow is cast over the lives of those he holds dear.

About the Author :
After starting his career as a schoolteacher, Ralph Lyons decided to change the direction of his life in order to explore the world of business and finance. Over the next two and a half decades, he was involved in a number of large property development and social care ventures throughout South Yorkshire. One of Ralph's main pastimes is writing, and in his last publication he produced a review of the alternating cycle of 'prosperity' and 'downturn'. He also loves to travel and the inspiration for Gio and the Broken Line came from some of the places he has visited, and the interesting people he has met along the way.
