Review :
"The Transformation Leader’s Guide. If anyone would have the accumulated wisdom to write a book with that title, it would be Bob Miles. This book ably and engagingly pulls from the arc of Miles’ career, interweaving his academic interest in discovering basic principles of organizational change with his consulting engagements that put principles into practice. In a clear example of how theory and practice can inform and enrich each other, the book takes the reader through the complexity of large-scale change, with insights and examples that will be of use to scholars and those with transformational aspirations alike." John R. Kimberly, Bower Professor Emeritus, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania "Throughout his career, Bob Miles has been gifted in making sense of complex phenomena and organizing them into useful and understandable terms. In the chaotic and mystifying world of organizational transformation, Bob is among the very elite in capturing the essence of successful change. This book is a must read for leaders, change agents, scholars, and teachers who want to better understand how organizational transformation works, how to guide it, and how to help others implement it. This landmark book represents the summary of a lifetime of study and practice, and it is a rare treasure." Kim S. Cameron, Kelly Professor Emeritus of Management & Organizations, University of Michigan "This is an innovative and accomplished book by an author always at the centre of scholarship and practice in the field of leadership and change. Bob Miles articulates a grounded approach to corporate transformation built around the need to create, exploit and sustain positive energy for change over time. Crucial to the book's success is the step-by-step guide to top team leadership with its experience embedded in some of the great private and public sector organizations in the USA and beyond." Andrew M. Pettigrew, OBE, FBA, Emeritus Professor of Strategy and Organisation, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford "If you want advice about accomplishing successful organizational change Bob Miles is a great source. He has succeeded in accomplishing it and this book communicates his accumulated wisdom. It will facilitate your success!" Jay W. Lorsch, Kirstein Professor of Human Relations, Harvard Business School "Today’s global business environment is full of turbulent seas. To navigate successfully you need to be able to steady your course with a solid strategy, adjust rapidly and keep everyone focused on their objectives. ACT is the seakeeping gyro that enables all of that and its creator, Bob Miles, has been the best corporate navigator in rough seas for decades. Over the last 27 years I have used ACT for a variety of business voyages that required rapid transformation with wonderful results." Rodger E. Smith, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Oracle Utilities
