About the Book

Artemis Pound has just graduated from college and taken an internship at Boom! Snap! Pow! Marketing in the new tech center of the East Coast: Lepton Mountain. But something's not right. Someone's trying to use the power of quantum computing to launch mind-infecting marketing software upon the world. Artemis discovers that navigating the corporate world requires a lot more than technical skills, that office romances are complicated, and that you never know who you can trust. After the discovery of a mysterious book hidden in an elaborate quantum world, Artemis and his friends team up with a shadowy organization and embark on a dangerous plan to save the world. The Coding Samurai: The Way of the Computer Warrior is an imaginative ride through a near-future world that reminds us that the more technologically advanced we become, the harder we have to work to retain our humanity.

Review :
" Just about every novel starts with a "what if?" In the case of "The Coding Samurai," author Ian Felton looks into the future and asks "What if quantum computing and immersive virtual reality become everyday consumer products?" How does that change how we interact with the world around us? Through the eyes of the protagonist, Artemis Pound, Felton explores a future that in some ways is far different from the present, but in other ways is eerily similar. A recent college graduate, Artemis Pound takes an internship at an innovative company that is developing the next sea change in how humans interact with computers and with each other. And of course, someone is trying to infect the software with nefarious intent. Artemis must find a way to identify and defeat him. Or her. He attempts to do so with the help of newfound friends and a mysterious book that reaches into Japan's feudal past to explain how the way of the Samurai can help guide Artemis in his own personal journey. In his quest, Artemis encounters the soul-sucking reality of corporate America, learns the importance of trust and the value of friendships, and discovers an entire world that he never knew existed. Felton weaves a compelling tale that combines the high tech world of virtual reality, the tension of a good suspense novel, and an imaginative fantasy future world. He poses questions about how we perceive reality, and what that means in a world when immersive virtual reality becomes as commonplace as a cellphone. The novel moves at a good pace and provides several unexpected plot twists. Highly imaginative, fun to read and thought-provoking, "The Coding Samurai" explores the developing relationship between man and machine and why we humans are going to need each other more than ever." "This book is one part sci-fi espionage adventure, one part historical samurai fiction, and one part IT philosophy. Anyone with experience in the IT world would find it an especially enjoyable read."
