About the Book

The Bible was originally written to be a guide for you to live in peace, harmony, and the fulfillment of your aspirations. This book has been written to free yourself from the limitations of your mind, to understand life principles, and help you achieve your ideal life. Hundreds of translations over many thousands of years have misinterpreted the idioms (slang) used in the original manuscripts, resulting in a change in the meaning of many Sacred Passages in the Bible. If I were to write a letter to a friend that said, "I'm going to 'hit the sack' early tonight, someone finding my letter a thousand years from now would have no idea what I was talking about. The same holds true for idiom translations in the Bible. Through Dr. Portinga's research into what was his life's purpose: How thought and consciousness effect every aspect of your life; mentally, physically. emotionally, and spiritually, you will discover an exciting new world of possibilities exist for you. A New Understanding of the Ten Commandments will guide you through the true meaning of the Ten Commandments, originally written as a guide to live your life in peace, harmony, and the fulfillment of your desires. During its approximately 3000 years of written history, Aramaic had served as a language of the administrations of empires and as a language of divine worship. It was the language of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity, who spoke a Western Aramaic language during his public ministry. The Aramaic alphabet was widely adopted for other languages and is ancestral to the Hebrew, Syriac and Arabic alphabets. Dean Portinga, Th.D., Ph.D., spent over 60 years researching physics, metaphysics, quantum physics, and spirituality as they related to the Bible. He also worked closely with Dr. George Lamsa, a native Aramaic speaker to write this book. Dr. Lamsa spent his lifetime translating the Aramaic Peshitta (literally "straight, simple") of the Old and New Testaments into English. He translated the scriptures, using his extensive knowledge of Aramaic and the idioms used during that time into an understanding of the Bible's original intent. Through Dr. Portinga's combination of science and a clearer understanding of the Ten Commandments, he found a common thread that connected his combined knowledge into the answer to his life's purpose; How do thought and consciousness affect every aspect of our lives. He shares these results in this book. A New Understanding of the Ten Commandments will give you a clearly defined step-by-step guide to a more meaningful understanding of the Ten Commandments as well as the tools to enrich your life. He shares his finding with you in this book.

About the Author :
Dean Portinga Th.D., Ph.D. was introduced to spirituality early in his live by his father. Once introduced to the Laws of Nature and the Universe, he clearly understood his life's mission. He set out to discover, "How do our thoughts and consciousness effect our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual nature?" He later earned both a Doctorate in Theology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. His search for the truth took him on a journey through sacred writings, working closely with researcher Dr. George M. Lasma, and a new-found perspective of the Ten Commandments based on Dr. Lamsa's translation of Aramaic, Greek and Hebrew recordings of the Bible's original intent into English. Dr. Portinga then incorporated Dr. Lamsa's translations of the Bible with physics, metaphysics, quantum physics, and spirituality; finding a common thread which led to his discovery of the answer he had been searching for and led to his distinguished career. In addition to traveling on speaking tours with Earl Nightingale and other celebrated speakers of that time, he also served as Chairman of the Life Science Foundation and the Charlston Foundation, both of which spent millions of dollars in research and funding research, aiding higher learning institutions to research how thought and consciousness effect our lives. After retiring from his speaking engagements and serving on many Board of Directors, Dr. Portinga cofounded Unlimited Futures (formerly Executive Futures), with his wife, Dr. Bobbie Stevens; a company devoted to enriching people's lives. Over 2,000 people, from CEO's of international companies, well-known recording artists to people like myself, attended their 14-week, 7-session course. The letters they received from participants thanking them for developing the course would fill a book and changed many lives. Bobbie was the catalyst for Unlimited Futures and Dean wanted to devote more time to spirituality and consciousness, so he founded Spiritual-Insights, which became the catalyst for his writing A New Understanding of the Ten Commandments. Dr. Portinga is also the author of several unpublished books, hundreds of articles and research papers and an audible Home Study Course that will be released later this year.
