About the Book

The Startup Student is a practical and tactical guide to help students make the most of their college entrepreneurship experience. With over 20 leading thoughts leaders contributing, the book's content is fresh, easy to read, and applicable to any student interested in entrepreneurship. Divided into three separate yet related parts, it is designed to be a resource, a tool, a reference guide, and a source of wisdom for all those brave student souls willing to put their ideas into action in entrepreneurship classrooms around the world. Part 1, Succeeding as an Entrepreneurship Student, offers students advice on how to successfully navigate an entrepreneurship program, touching on topics such as acquiring startup internships, dealing with faculty, avoiding common idea generation pitfalls, and getting the most out of one's entrepreneurship education. Part 2, Bolstering Your Entrepreneurial Mindset, discusses key psychological factors needed for entrepreneurial success. Meanwhile, Part 3, Succeeding as a Student Entrepreneur, draws upon the advice of a variety of experienced entrepreneurs and new venture experts to give students the tips they need to launch a startup while still in school. The Startup Student has been called "a bible for student entrepreneurs" by serial entreprenuer and New York Times best selling author Steve Kaplan. Student entrepreneur Connor Alstrom hails it as "the best resource I have seen for future or current college entrepreneurs."

Review :
"I love working with students because of their boundless energy and optimism. But too many of them become discouraged when they hit predictable roadblocks. We see the same patterns each and every semester. The Startup Student is a candid, practical, and tactical guide to help the aspiring student entrepreneurs navigate these roadblocks. Students can't change the world if their idea never comes to life. The Startup Student will put them on the right path forward." -Diana Kander New York Times Best Selling Author of All In Startup "The Startup Student is a great read for any entrepreneur or any student, but for every entrepreneurship student it's really more of a bible! It's THE book I wish I had back when I was a student! The insight provided is valuable, timely, and specifically contextualized to aspiring student entrepreneurs. Eric Liguori and the 20+ other entrepreneurial thought leaders hit the nail on the head by laying out practical, real-world advice to not only help you ensure entrepreneurial success, but also avoid a few landmines along the way." -Steve Kaplan New York Times Best Selling Author of Be the Elephant and Bag the Elephant "The Startup Student is the best resource I have seen for future or current college entrepreneurs. This is not a textbook, it is your framework for how to get the most out of your college education. I was fortunate to get involved with my school's entrepreneurship program and student club beginning the first day of my freshman year, and have lived the startup student life for 4 years. The advice and experience packed into this quick read is invaluable!" -Connor Alstrom Fresno State Entrepreneurship Club President (2013-2015) "The Startup Student is a fantastic book that provides students with highly necessary advice from the real-world perspective of a student entrepreneur.
