About the Book

Blake is an immortal warrior who has been on Earth for almost 500 millennia. When her body dies, her being moves to a new one. At the end of the battle, she stands on a burning raft of catamarans in the Pacific Ocean. Mortally wounded by her lover, Blake understands it is not betrayal but sacrifice. As Blake's life ebbs away, she flows into a new body, and the narrative rewinds to reveal the extraordinary chain of events that led to this devastating moment.

Months earlier, Cole, a Nubian warrior, approached Blake on a beach. He bears a proposition from Manny, who has spent two decades orchestrating an ambitious plan: a massive floating raft of interconnected catamarans ostensibly designed to clean the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, but with a more dangerous purpose-to lure and kill Jun, the evilest Ever Kind in existence. Jun is a being of such malevolence that he has terrorized immortals and mortals alike for millennia, and Manny has devised a way to end him forever.

Blake joins the operation, and the team begins meticulous preparations. Manny acquires a new body-a handsome male model named Ernesto Romero-to command the operation with the physical presence he demands. The raft is cleverly designed for two purposes: it cleans the ocean with fake kelp, spinning brushes, and electric skimmers, while also hiding a nuclear submarine with weapons like EMPs, rail guns, and missiles. During tests in Puget Sound, Blake mastered the raft's dual wind-electric system, and her strong sailing skills are crucial for the mission.

The operation expands to include an extraordinary network of immortals and their hidden offspring. Christine, a tall brunette managing the raft's solar smelter, grows into Blake's dearest friend and romantic partner. Brie, a precious metals dealer in Singapore, acts as the bait, using recovered gold to draw Jun in. Blake learns that Christine and Brie are part of a secret immortal group called "Us." These are immortal children from special unions, hidden from the immortal parents for ages. Noi, Christine's daughter, reveals she is a member as well. Other allies arrive: Rek the Red, a warrior whose legend inspired the Thor myths, arrives carrying his legendary weapons. Cole returns bearing fresh scars and the Stern Mistress, a five-masted sailing ship converted into a weapons platform. The team gathers on the raft, all united against Jun.

When Jun finally arrives with his fleet, the trap springs with overwhelming force. The submarine launches an EMP device that disables most of Jun's ships. The raft's defenses destroy Jun's forces. Yet victory comes at a cost. Jun's men have captured Noi at her school in Pennsylvania, forcing Christine into an impossible choice between her daughter and Blake.

In the climactic moment, Blake is mortally wounded and asks Christine to end her life, allowing her consciousness to flow into a new body while ensuring Noi's safety. Christine complies, driving her sword through Blake's heart as the raft burns around them. Blake transfers into the body of one of Noi's captors at the academy, confirming both are safe. They captured Jun and placed him in a Faraday cage, which prevented him from transferring to a new body as he dies. His consciousness flows into Jessie the tortoise, trapping the most evil being in history in the body of a small reptile.

In the last act, Jessie, containing Jun's imprisoned consciousness, is launched into space, burning up in the sun's corona in approximately one hundred years.

A year later, Blake, now inhabiting a new body that matches her warrior spirit, stands on the rebuilt raft Christine at her side. In her hand is a meteorite steel sword forged by Noi. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is being cleaned, Jun is gone forever, and the bonds forged among Blake, Christine, Noi, and their extraordinary family endure. A quiet triumph after nearly twenty-five centuries of living.
