About the Book

Is God A Conservative? makes the case that God involves Himself in the affairs of men, His greatest blessings are reserved for those who are obedient, and that our founders embedded this worldview in our founding documents. But we have abandoned these values and are drifting toward chaos at every level ... family instability ... financial crisis ... moral decline ... deep societal divisions ... continuing attacks on law enforcement. The current course is unsustainable. Is God A Conservative? argues that a return to our founding principles will lead to restoration and renewal, and answers the questions, "Is God a Conservative and does it even matter?" resoundingly, "Yes!"

About the Author :
Captain James C. Kinney culminated a distinguished 26-year Naval career receiving the highest peacetime award authorized by the Department of Defense. His career included flying missions from nine different operational aircraft carriers, three command tours, and a tour on the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Known as a gifted public speaker, he has had the opportunity to address audiences across the nation and around the world. His concerns about the drift of America away from her founding principles and toward a larger and ever more powerful bureaucracy led him to write Is God A Conservative?

Review :
Governor Mike Huckabee I have had the privilege of having a seat at the table of public service and politics for nearly 30 years and before that served at two churches with godly men and women. When I compare the culture back in the '80s and continuing through today, the change is amazing ... and not all for the better. While the advances in the technology of everyday life have been remarkable, connecting people and making life so much easier, the revolution has brought many unintended and I believe devastating changes in the way we view each other and the world we live in. As the technology advances, our ability to deal with each other in a civil and understanding way has been diminished. Our understanding of right and wrong has been altered in significant ways and our sexuality has been promoted and marketed as the most important part of our understanding of who we are. We have promoted tolerance as the highest virtue, to our detriment. When tolerance reigns as the most important value in any society, that society has lost the ability to recognize right from wrong. But it would be too easy to simply blame the Internet and cell phones for the state of America today ... while these and other advances in technology have certainly accelerated our civil and moral decline, something much deeper has been at the core of our current cultural crisis. In June of 1962, the Supreme Court ordered the removal of prayer from the public schools thereby establishing by court decree that appealing to a higher power was unconstitutional. In June of 1963, the court continued this assault on our Judeo-Christian foundation by ordering the Bible removed from public school classrooms, displacing the historical standard for civil order and justice from public education, leaving future generations of citizens to figure it out for themselves. Then in 1973, in a decision of huge moral implication rising to the level of the Dred Scott decision which set the country on the path to civil war, the Supreme Court ruled abortion is a protected legal right under the United States Constitution. The trifecta was complete ... no appeal to a higher power ... no established standard for right and wrong ... and unborn life has no legal rights, and we were off to the races, tumbling faster and faster towards social dysfunction. Those three court decisions more than four decades ago began the descent into the darkness we are struggling with in America today. This small book, asking "Is God A Conservative?" has captured the essence of our struggles today and has defined a path of renewal for those seeking a restoration of the "shining city" of President Reagan's dreams. Captain Kinney has captured the most critical issue facing America today and has proposed a realistic, but counter-cultural and politically incorrect answer to America's failing social contract. He has written, in a simple and easy to understand way, that America has been great because of God's blessing and can only return to greatness with His continued blessing. It has been often said that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Is God A Conservative? makes a compelling case for examining our history as the best way to find the path forward in the 21st century. Gary Chapman, Ph.D. Author of The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts Does God exist? If so, has He spoken? Jim Kinney answers both questions in the affirmative. In this book, he seeks to apply what "God has said" to some of the major issues facing contemporary culture. A challenging read for all who care about future generations. Congressman Mark Walker United States House of Representatives North Carolina 6th Congressional District We no longer have the luxury of being ill-informed, and we must understand these issues in order to restore God's hand of the blessings which we have historically enjoyed.
