About the Author :
broadcaster, teacher, and former librarian who has played a major role in the establishment of the National Jazz Archive. He has contributed to several respected books about jazz, including Groves Dictionary and the Rough Guide to Jazz, as well as co-authoring a biography of Nat Gonella, and he is the author of On the Road with George Melly.
