About the Book

More Hidden Hamilton continues Ruth Cotton's discoveries about her suburb, and draws on her popular blog of the stories, history and people of Hamilton, New South Wales. These new stories invite us to reflect on how individuals remake their lives, often under harsh circumstances; the many ways in which community can be created; how a sense of home and belonging can be achieved in what may seem like the most ordinary of settings. The people and places in this new collection are captured in contemporary and historical photographs, every page a reminder of our ever-changing society.A companion volume to the bestselling Hidden Hamilton: Uncovering stories of Hamilton, NSW.

About the Author :
Ruth Cotton grew up on a sheep and cattle property near Narrabri, New South Wales. She has lived and worked in Fiji, Malaysia, Canberra, Sydney and on the far north coast of NSW. Ruth's first book, Reinventing Success - find happiness, satisfaction and balance by managing change in your life (Random House, 1996), explored modern-day challenges such as balancing work and family life. In 2012, after a career spanning education, public health and management, Ruth moved with her husband to Hamilton in Newcastle. Always intrigued by what lies beneath the surface of things, she began her blog Hidden Hamilton in May, 2013. Her next book, Hidden Hamilton: Uncovering stories of Hamilton, NSW (Hunter Press, 2014), captured the highlights of the first year of her blog. More Hidden Hamilton: Further stories of people, place and community (Hunter Press, 2016) is her third published work.
