About the Book

Writing this book began 40 years ago with one man, a typewriter, and a dream to tell the world a story - his own life story - from rags to phony riches. Fredi was the son of a hobo, born and toddled in a Blind Pig in Detroit's red light district during Prohibition. His father left the brewing crocks to end up living in a chicken coop in northern Michigan with a low of $4.00 per week to feed mother, father, daughter, and son. Fredi's first drive was in the Tin Lizzie Model T truck, without a roof in the Michigan winter. Fred missed the bus one fateful day that led him to a station in the automobile business. Fred Ford became the #1 Ford car salesmen in the World in the 1950s. Tex built a five time bankrupt dealership, in the half trade area of South Haven, into a success in the 1960s. The twisted path to CAR-ruption unfolds in the true story of a colorful life, cars and money, humor and wisdom, fun and tragedy. 2 books in 1, 6 table-turning sections delve into captivating perspectives that shaped a life, thought-provoking stories, 368 pages, 122 photos, and thematic reference maps. Available in 7" x 10" paperback, hardcover with special signed and numbered editions available, and Ebook formats.
