About the Book

Tom Sutter has overcome unbelievable obstacles on his way to creating the successful life he enjoys today would be an understatement of epic proportions. Whether it was "breaking the cycle" of an unhealthy upbringing, the powerful decision he made to change the course of his life while spending a few nights in jail, or suffering the loss of his young son, Cal; Tom doesn't just share his life's journey and lessons in this book. He provides a blueprint for success to overcoming and creating an outstanding life. Today, Tom, his wife Stacey, and their blended family of six children live in the Chicago suburbs and are all actively involved in the foundation dedicated to Cal's memory, which has raised more than $2,000,000 to help families facing the challenges of pediatric cancer with financial assistance to keep them in their homes, food on the table and a smile on their face. Tom electrifies audiences across North America with his passionate and proven success strategies for business and personal growth.

About the Author :
Tom Sutter is a multi-threat professional - the serious job that pays the bills, the fun job that pays the heart and soul and a published author, inspirational speaker and travel guide to success in business and sales. At Crum-Halsted Insurance (www.crumhalsted.com) in Sycamore, Illinois, Tom is the Vice President of Sales & Business Development which involves the recruiting, training and development of commercial insurance and employee benefits producers while maintaining and growing his own book of insurance business. Tom also co-founded and is the President of Cal's All-Star Angel Foundation (www.calsangels.org), a 501c3 non-profit organization, that grants the wishes of children battling cancer and financially assists their families. Tom's duties include chief fundraiser, branding, marketing, accounting and legal representation. Since 2007 Cal's Angels has raised over $2mil after expenses allowing them to assist over 600 families while sponsoring the two oncology floors at the new Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Having lost their oldest child, Cal, to leukemia in August of 2006, Tom and his wife Stacey (Cal's Step-Mom) enjoy spending their spare time assisting other families battling pediatric cancer to help cope with their mental, emotional, spiritual and financial struggles through their non-profit organization, Cal's Angels. Training and coaching has been a part of Tom's life since his college days. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Northern Illinois University where he was also involved as a pledge trainer with the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Tom enjoys spending his spare time coaching one or more of their six children's baseball and softball teams each spring and summer. All of Tom's life experiences provided the impetus to write this book "Bitter or Better - Crushing Life's Losses Into Victories" based on the principle that no matter what life throws at you there is no reason to let anything but you and your mind control your destiny. All of these "life experiences" also lead Tom to migrate over to the coaching, mentoring and speaking arenas. You will laugh, cry and learn how to turn horrible negatives into positives, you will learn about business branding, marketing and sales training but most of all you will learn that you can succeed in life if you want to succeed in life - your destiny is in your hands with the only limitation being your own hopes, dreams, desires and mental fortitude.
