About the Book

Horse racing is a roller-coaster ride depending on whether you're winning or losing. Off The Rails is a collection of humorous racing yarns from Racetrack Magazine that runs the gamut from winning highs to those all-too-common lows at the races. Author Jeff Sagar worked at Racetrack Magazine for 12 years and, apart from writing the usual quota of articles about jockeys, trainers, breeders and high profile horses, he also penned a regular column of off-beat stories every month. Sagar relives the halcyon days of rorts and betting plunges in a laugh-a-minute journey through 40 of those articles in Off The Rails.
