About the Author :
From the Author: At nineteen years old, I was fostering children for the state of Utah. That was my first clue that I could bring children and animals together. The children I fostered came from broken homes, alcohol and drug use or abuse and it was my job to bring the children to a healthy level where they could either return home or be placed in a safe and permanent home. Over the course of fostering children, I was able to witness the growth of several children as they grew from low self esteem to a healthy self esteem. In my choice to write children's books, it's my goal to reach out and share a message with them that no matter what challenges they may face in life, they can and will get through them. My writings include a full length historical romance novel and a non-fiction manuscript of generations within my family sharing anecdotes, recipes and traditions. As an expert author in Ezine articles, my subjects have included articles on automobile insurance coverage, health and beauty and natural remedies for pets. In 2006, there was a traumatic car accident that gave me brain damage and I was out of commission for approximately four years. However, I'm not a quitter and so I trudge along every day desiring to make a difference in the world. When I was finally able, I was thrilled to be able to write again, because writing is my passion. The subject matter I've chosen to write about, since the accident, is near and dear to my heart. Shattered, the name of my book, is about a 12 year old girl who is going through hardships, due to her parents separation, an upsetting move to a new home and leaving her close friends behind. To capture a child's attention, an author needs to write in such a way as to inspire, educate and honor the child reader. It's important to engage their attention in a "fun" sort of way, even as you're conveying an important message. When I'm not riding horses, chasing chickens or herding cats, I am passionately writing, blogging or freelancing. I'm a Mom of two boys, ages 30 and 26 and wife to my real life hero. I'm an adventurer in life and spirituality and a torch bearer for stray animals. It is my ultimate goal to continue writing uplifting books for young children in the hope that I will make a positive difference in their lives.
