About the Book

The Broken Shield: An Urban Fantasy Thriller. Liam hasn't seen his widow, Becca, in nearly four hundred years and suddenly there she is, riding past the commuter train he's stuck on with a pixie princess. In the battle between Light and Dark, Liam is a Shield, a Protector of the Balance, and he's been running from Dark Hunters for over two thousand years. He's not immortal in the usual sense of the word, but he's been reincarnated so many times that his body and mind are slowly breaking down, which is the perfect time for Becca, Dark forces, and an elven bounty hunter to arrive in town. Liam's not the only one in trouble, though, because all over the world Shields are dying, the Balance is shifting in Lucifer's favour, and it's all because of the smartphone app from Hell. Liam IS the Broken Shield.

About the Author :
"Canada's modern-day Aesop"*, Tim Reynolds is an internationally published Canadian writer and photographer. His own ancestors danced in and around history from The Mayflower to Canadian Confederation to the Russian Revolution, so it's no surprise that a common element in his writing is a blending of historical facts with fictional tales. His premier novel, The Broken Shield, reinvents the battle between Dark & Light, taking readers on a thrill ride from the Last Supper to Silicon Valley. His short stories have appeared in "Tesseracts Seventeen: Speculating Canada From Coast to Coast to Coast," and "Imaginarium 2012: Best of Canadian Speculative Writing." His 100-word story "Temper Temper" was a winner of Kobo Writing Life's Jeffrey Archer Short Story Challenge, and he can be found online at www.tgmreynolds.com, www.TheTaoOfTim.com (blog).
