About the Book

When the story first began, it was intended to be science fiction with a simple theme, based on the surprising discovery by the characters of ancient artifacts called "drosts" that opened portals through which one could to travel to different worlds when a drost was illuminated with a LASER light, this being a more modern version of rabbit hole in Lewis Carrol's "Wonderland" and the tornado in L. Frank Baum's "OZ". However, as the story evolved, the focus shifted to exploring the concepts of good and evil, and more recently the story is evolving in yet more ways, such as for example touching on allegories which are relevant to current world events. Since this is an ongoing story and the author truly has no specific idea where it is going, it is not so easy to describe it other than to suggest that eventually it will conclude with some type of profound ending toward the goal of being enlightening and entertaining in a good way.Since the author of the story is writing this description and is not the least bit timid with respect to self-promotion, one might suggest that this story and its accompanying music might sometime in the far distant future be recognized by someone other than the author as being one of the marvels of the early 21st century in what might be an unique combination of talents and skills which historically have never really existed on this planet, at least with respect to one person doing everything in the sense of Shakespeare composing and performing the music for his plays or perhaps in the sense of Mozart composing and perform dialogue for his symphonies, including playing all the instruments. Additionally, since one of the goals is to make the recordings as near to being live performances as possible, every effort is made to record and to play everything on the first take using the available microphones, instruments, and special effects in the studio at the time. Hence, the chapters evolve from being very simple to being more complex, in terms of special effects, instruments, and orchestration, with the second Audio CD (Chapters 4 through 6) being recorded after the author discovered that all the white keys on an Alesis ION synthesizer sounded good (hence more elaborate orchestration was easier, since the overall key probably is C or A minor, as best as the author can guess).

Table of Contents:
Audio CD 1: Chapter 1: On the Asteroid, Chapter 2: Another World, Chapter 3: The Stone Castle; Audio CD 2: Chapter 4: The Company Man Arrives (On the Asteroid), Chapter 5: Sinister Visitors in the Abandoned City, Chapter 6: Bokra and Suzanne Discover a Secret
