(Pre-K & Up) Last year over 4.1 million children endured at least one lockdown during the most deadly year for school shootings in modern American history. Do your children know what to do to keep themselves safe?
"I Can Be A Superhero During A Lockdown is one of the best safety books I have read in a long time... If not of all time! This is a must read for anyone!" - Jessica Woody, MS, ED, Elementary School Counselor
Created by a Certified Child Life Specialist and mother of two, I Can Be A Superhero During A Lockdown is a child-friendly and developmentally appropriate book perfect for young children of any developmental ability. Beautiful full-color illustrations, easy-to-understand explanations, and multiple situational examples help to decrease anxiety while teaching children what to do to keep themselves, and others, safe. An included coloring sheet helps to provide further engagement in addition to helping readers remember tasks through repetition. This #1 New Release is written in a positive, self-affirming, first-person account, which helps children safely practice and visualize a positive ending to a potentially difficult and frightening situation.
When I follow the directions of my teacher, or the adult in charge, keep myself quiet, and stay still in my hiding spot, I make sure that we can all hide safely until the Lockdown is over. When I do my jobs, I help others by keeping myself and everyone else safe. When I do my jobs, I am a Superhero.
