About the Book

It started with Jack Canfield telling Herb that he should list 100 successes, so he could motivate himself to be more successful. Since Herb is contrary, he listed 300 failures. Then he fleshed them out with what he learned and how they led to successes. Thus, the Failing My Way to Success series was born. Each of us goes through stages when we do not have what it takes to be a success. If we have one or two failures, we might decide that we are a permanent failure. This book tells the story of the numerous failures which Herb had growing up. The later books in the series will tell of numerous failures after he thought he was "grown-up". Read the book to enjoy it, but in the process, it will help you develop the mindset that you can be a success. Once you have that mindset, this series of books will remain enjoyable and will continue to motivate you as you navigate towards your successes. You might even use the expression, "I have not had as many failures as my good friend Herb had." The text is written with a Junior High reading level, but the stories are so interesting you will be looking forward to learning about Herb's next failure.

About the Author :
Herb Nordmeyer retired from a successful career in cementitious product de-velopment and in troubleshooting failures (usually other people failures) following the economic downturn of 2008. He set up a wilderness kayak guiding service, started writing books with his granddaughters, and doing consulting work around the United States, especially serving as an expert witness where construction fail-ures have occurred. After being pushed into making one trip to Haiti in 2013, he accepted an impos-sible challenge to find or develop technology so the poorest of the poor could build disaster-resistant homes for a material cost of not more than $1,000 US. He failed. The cost was just under $3,000 US for materials. He continues to make from 4 to 6 trips to Haiti per year, building and teaching others to build low-cost, disaster-resistant housing. His second book in Haitian Creole (Kalite Beton Kaka - that is Quality Concrete from Crap) was published in December 2018. He seldom has time to go kayaking anymore, and the granddaughters he wrote books with have grown up and moved on. He continues to consult. "My goal is to teach and solve problems in a manner so I educate those around me and inspire them to do their best. This will lead to all of us listening to and learning from one another." Deborah M. Salinas is a Certified Texas Educator in the areas of Art (Grades EC-12), Technology Applications (Grades EC-12), and Classroom Generalist (EC-6). She is a member of various organizations and a strong proponent of the expressive arts. When Herb needed art for the book, Animals I Have Hated, Deborah select-ed two of her Junior High art students and they illustrated the book. Since then, in-between teaching, she has furnished illustrations and covers whenever Herb needs them. She is now reaching out to develop other clients.
