About the Book

Sidney and Cyd, folks much like you and I, unexpectedly meet one, most unlikely guru, who shows them five learnings, transforming and ordinary day into an extraordinary field trip that changes both their lives. During their weird field-trip, Sidney and Cyd are whisked away via a vortex (what else?!) to visit a number of characters who exemplar key attitudes and dispositions that their guru is tasked with revealing to them. Sidney is resistant. He is far more concerned with avoiding the humiliation of everyone finding out that there's something he doesn't understand. Cyd is perplexed. She's convinced that her 'jug of potential' doesn't take that much to fill. Both have much to discover. A TALE OF TWO SYDNEYS is a no-messing, straight-talking, manga-inspired, self-improvement story. It's a light-hearted means to revealing some life-changing advice around a fist full of learnings that, should you choose to adopt them, seriously threaten to change your life experiences for the better.

About the Author :
Hil is a successful Master Practitioner and Coach in NLP, with a Degree in Psychology & Education, and Masters Degree in Leadership. A Tale of Two Sydneys (2Sids) fermented in Hil's psyche over many years of teaching & coaching both youngsters & adults. The common thread that acted as a catalyst for this story spewing forth in the dead of night, was that of people not daring to shine or celebrating their successes through a, sometimes overwhelming, fear of failure and lack of self-empowerment. 2Syds serves to open the dialogue around reclaiming our empowerment and daring to shine.

Review :
"Quirky, delightful and accessible ... Ideal for those who claim they just haven't got what it takes, those who just daren't stretch their boundaries and risk achieving even more, or those needing a dose of inspiration to get where they want to go. A fantastic read!" - Leon Taylor - Olympic Medallist, Speaker and Author "I TOTALLY relate to this book! It's help me understand what has gone on in my time at school and know how I can improve my chances as I go into sixth form." K Powell - 16yr old student "A Tale of Two Sydneys, really addresses a key issue facing today's young people with sensitivity, whilst not avoiding the central theme of 'peer pressure and self-image'. How do those young people with talent and ability, and those with low self esteem, manage is often significantly influenced by their peers and the learning environment they are exposed to. The book essentially provides a quality 'neutral' forum where, supported by conversation and dialogue, the highly charged areas of self belief and self worth has the potential to be explored, without the young person feeling threatened. The book can stand alone but it is through skillful facilitation, I believe, that it allows maximum impact and outcomes - the craft of high quality teaching and learning, can be utilised in partnership with this book. The style and presentation of the book also relates well to today's world, but why not read on and see?" - T Whittingham - Worcester University "I have been lucky enough to have read your book 'A Tale of Two Sydneys.' I must first say what a brilliant book! I so wish this book had been available to my son during his last few years in secondary school. The most powerful learning tool that you have written about, for us, is that there is 'No Failure, Only Feedback.' If this had been implemented towards my son, I know it would have enabled him to make an informed choice whether to continue, amending certain areas, or whether he could still have achieved the outcome required but in a totally different, ie positive, way. Not only would he have achieved better qualifications, but his self esteem would have been considerably raised during this tricky, and quite often stressful time for young people during their exam years." - L Wiles -mother of 2 "A Tale of Two Sydneys' is an excellent example of how talent and natural ability are not enough alone and that success requires more! I think this book is perfect for anyone who may be scared to admit they 'just don't get it', or those who 'don't think they can'. It really illustrates different personalities which I have witnessed in my own children. Contains some great advice, and wonderful illustrations too. Thoroughly enjoyed by us all!" - L Andrew - Artist & mother of three
