About the Book

People who've bought this book dared to ask for a pay rise and got it, got promoted, excelled in leading others, lost weight, quit smoking cold turkey, climbed mountains, proposed after years of procrastination, run half marathons, left home countries and went travelling, started writing their own books, broke of toxic relationships; yet it is not a self-help book, far from it. "Why the hell Bother?" is a story of a human being struggling and winning to find the better self. Ania describes her personal transformation from the bottom of her heart; she doesn't spare any details. When she was crying, she says so, when she was giggling, she says so, when she was losing or winning she shares to the full extent. The transformation was triggered by high altitude, cold, exposing herself beyond the comfort zone and close contact with nature. She writes in the introduction: "Initially the lessons of life were like a slap on the face, like big 'aha moments,' then they became increasingly subtle. I am still discovering them and I am sure will continue to do so throughout my scholarship of life." 30% of profits go towards building schools in Nepal.

Review :
"I loved the book!!! It is well-written, easy to read. With almost every chapter, Ania made me cry. The development and changes of each trip are great. If that is all she had written, the book is worth buying." --- "This is one of those books that makes you stop and consider your life, goals and limitations - and to stretch them all a little. To someone who does not understand mountaineering the book is still simple to read; Ania's journey, commitment and passion for life that shines through. I can tell when a book is a good one, as I find it hard to put down even though I have a busy life. Why the Hell Bother took me two days. A truly inspiring read. ...if you are interested in self-exploration, reading this book will help you scale new heights."--- "Gripping account of a personal journey - loved every word of it. Most impressed by your determination and hard work on reaching each summit. I believe I now fully appreciate who you are and the journey you went through to become you. Enjoy your moment Ania."---"I met Ania at the workplace about two months. She left a deep impression on me as a determined person who was totally at peace with herself and her surroundings. The book somewhat details the steps she took in finding about herself and the journey she had undertaken to arrive at this point in her life."---"A wonderful read - a book for adventurers, enthusiasts and spectators alike. The author presents a neutral and, at times, painfully honest account of the trials and tribulations, both physical and emotional, associated with preparing for and engaging in the "Seven Summits" challenge. At times, the sheer scale of the adventure seems to border on the unimaginable - but the reader is constantly provided with the fine details, against the most truly remarkable backdrop, that make this story both compelling and inspiring throughout. I expect some people to read this book and immediately sign up to the nearest and most incomprehensible of challenges and I expect others to read it and breathe a sigh of relief that the thought had not occurred to them, but, and in every way more than that, I expect that everyone that reads this wonderful narrative will delight in the humanity of the retelling."
