About the Book

This book was written following the publication of the 700 word articles on Audit Trail published in "IRCA Inform Issue 24" and "ISO 9001 Auditing Practices Group" 10th December 2009. A request was received from a Certification Body to develop a book on the importance of Audit Trail, especially as there is no definition of Audit Trail in "ISO 9000 2005". The failure to teach Auditors the importance of Auditing the Process following an Audit Trail - ensuring the Process can meet the specified outcome - undermines the quality profession. Every CEO, MD and Manager who has used Auditors or organisations that are ISO 9001 certified should read this book to see if they are getting value for money from their Audits. Every Audit should add value, however, if the trend to Audit to see if the system complies with whatever standard is being used, continues, credibility will not be regained. It is recommended that this book should be in every manager and Auditor's bookcase. The author has a declared intention to improve the standard of Auditing over a 5 year period completing in 2015.
