David McVay is a former professional player who penned Steak Diana Ross, the diaries of a journeyman footballer. His other works include Cult Heroes of Nottingham Forest and Pipewood Camp Revisited, a compilation of nostalgic stories and images about a holiday home in Staffordshire for Nottingham's inner-city children which opened after the Second World War, and The Meadows Remembered.
