Review :
" The Discover Nigeria book is a discovery! Non-Nigerians and Nigerians alike from age 6 to 60 can enjoy and understand it. It is full of detailed contemporary and historical information about ex-British colony Nigeria- the most populous black country in the world. Its pages are lively with colour pictures,'Did you know' teasers, entertainment and sports personality quizzes, how to play popular playground games and recipes. With just a few paragraphs per page 2 to 4- it contains sufficient detailed data, maps, bibliography, time-line and other facts to satisfy the curiosity and curriculum requirements of KS2, KS3 pupils. School libraries should stock this! More in the series, please , on other African countries." Janet Sherlock , Head Tutor Leaders are Readers "This is an excellent book which will bring Nigeria alive for both students with a Nigerian background and those that have little prior knowledge of the country. Our school library has copies and it is proving to be very popular. In addition, it is proving to be a valuable resource for Key Stage 3 Geography and English" Jayne Dear Deputy Head Teacher Woodlands School "Thank you very much for sending me a copy of Discover Nigeria. I found it a fascinating and really interesting book" Lord Victor Adebowale CBE "Its a lovely book and my partner who is a new head-teacher at a small Devon rural school was delighted to add it to the children's resources" Mark Stratton, Travel Writer and Photographer "Congratulations and thank you so much for your book, it is absolutely wonderful, you must be really proud of it." Chinwe Roy ,Artist "Discover Nigeria will be a great resource for us. As an international school that recruits teachers from around the world, most of whom have never been to Africa, Discover Nigeria offers a wonderful introduction to the people, culture, history and beauty that are Nigeria. Our Nigerian Studies teacher also reviewed the text and has asked to use it for her elementary Nigerian Studies classes. It is that wide appeal and user ability that makes it such a valuable resource." Dr Ron Wilder American International School, Abuja, Nigeria " Very impressive, I thought. Its easy to dip into. lots of good info, very up to date. Illustrations are fantastic, and tell the story on their own-very important that poor or non -readers can get something out of it,"Jonathan Wicks, Audience Development Officer, Chelmsford Library " I read the book over the weekend which me and hubby thoroughly enjoyed. We liked the way in which you wrote the book in a style that is easy for anyone to understand."Sanchia Alasia, Employee Relations Officer( Diversity and Engagement)Queen Mary University of London" "Thanks for the book Paula. Its superb!" Tayo Fatunla, Cartoonist" "Such a well -written, well illustrated book which has taught me so much more about Nigeria,"The RT Hon Baroness Smith of Basildon " Discover Nigeria is a wonderful book that gets to the heart of what Nigeria is beautifully and has impacted upon students of both Nigerian and non- Nigerian descent alike," Ms Deslandes, Head Teacher, Kingsford Community School "The book is full of interesting facts and was a pleasure to read."
