About the Book

We all know 'Its's the early bird that gets the worm' but Sir Colin Spedding prefers the version used as the title of his book "It's the second mouse that gets the cheese". He likes to cite a proverb that says: 'He who hesitates ...is probably right.' In this witty book, which the author has illustrated, dozens of amusing and insightful proverbs are set in context. The author shows how they can be used, and has divided his favourites into themed sections to aid the reader.
