The beautiful town of St. Augustine, Florida, is the oldest continuously occupied city in North America. Founded in 1565, by Pedro Menendez, of Spain, it predates the Pilgrims at Plymouth rock by 42 years and the English settlement at Jamestown by 55 years. Taking a unique approach, it leaves out all of the accounts of politics, which take up 80% of a usual history book. One of my first childhood memories was of seeing beautiful rainbow auras of light around the heads of people young and old. When I was younger my family would head to St. Augustine for our summer vacation. During those trips I was often reminded that St. Augustine is America's oldest city. I never knew the whole history of the city but thanks I've learned all the facts I didn't know. It's a really fascinating book that is a lot of fun too. -- Ricky Kimsey
I had purchased this for my granddaughter...........I had not read it...........but thought she might like reading it because she is a real history buff!!
