The Round Box (Grandma's Closet Book 2) by Lois Wickstrom is a rollicking story that will take young readers on a wonderful adventure with Carrie as her bed began to rock like a boat on the ocean. Everything around her glittered and moved in slow motion. Her parents entered her room and when her mom read the story, the characters spoke to her and they all felt as if Grandma was in the room with them because Carrie was wearing her Grandma's fascinator. Francie Mion's illustrations add magic to the story and the adventure and make it vivid for young readers. The Round Box is a beautiful book that captures the bonding between grandparents and grandchildren and the author's approach to the topic is fresh and unique. It is a good book for parents and tutors to use for storytelling sessions to entertain youngsters with some adventure and magic.

Children will really enjoy this story about Carrie as she experiences the joy of finding another magical gift. Everything feels different, more fascinating, to Carrie once she finds the "fascinator" box (fitting name, I might add). But there is a message for children in this story too and it all has to do with outlook.
