He was a contributor and adviser to The Oxford Dictionaries of Ecology, Zoology, and Plant Life.Merryn Kent is a history graduate of Somerville College, Oxford. A former teacher and computer programmer, she is currently Library Manager for Padstow and St Columb libraries. Her published work includes educational material for primary school pupils, booklets for GCSE science students, and short stories and magazine articles for general readers. A keen walker, she is an active member of the Ramblers Association for which she is a volunteer Footpath Guardian. Above all, like Michael, she has an enthusiastic interest in Cornwall's landscape and heritage and is keen to share that enthusiasm with others.

Review :
'If you want to walk the Cornish foopath this could be a book for you. With 184 pages, 260 colour photographs and sixteen maps it helps to discover the wonderful coast of the county.' (Packet Newspapers, 03.07.08)'this book equals Michael's summing up his experiences and is "fantastic".'Excellent value and eminently readable ...'A book which lives up to its claim of being the perfect companion for those contemplating walking Cornwall's coast path or even just spending some time on its coast' (Western Morning News, 22.07.08)'Fantastic tale of coastal walk ...'I was left with nothing but admiration for an excellent production.' (The Cornishman, 24.07.08)'Michael's background in marine biology and his wife's in history shine through with a knowledgeable passion. ...'With its detailed routes and 16 maps, this book serves as a perfectly satisfactory walking planner.'It is, however, equally readable as a Palin-esque travel guide. Michael is amusing without trying too hard' (Western Morning News, 23.08.08)
