Review :
'I particularly like the Coast publication, which aims to introduce the nature of the Cornish coastline, from how it was originally formed to what lives there now. Rock pools, beaches and sand dunes, estuary and creek, and cliff and heath. They are all there in this book' (The Cornishman, 17.04.08)'packed with fantastic images and clear information ... compact enough to carry around on a day out ...'David has an ultra-keen eye and a real passion for his subject.' (Western Morning News, 26.04.08)'Yet again, in this new book "Exploring the Cornish Coast" the author (with the help of some exquisite photography) has manged to produce something very special and refreshing. Recording this county's wonderful coastline in such a wonderful way must have been quite a daunting challenge, given the plethora of works/images that exist, but what a result!'You really must buy this one for the bookshelf.' (Nigel Burnett, Director, Trebah Garden Trust, 29.04.08)'a more-ish, stylish guide laid out with a simplicity and structure that makes it almost as pleasurable to look at as the Cornish coast itself. ...'The overall effect is intelligent, understated and elegant - so much so that it makes you long for 5pm and the quickest road to the coast.'... ideal for rucksacks or pouches - extremely good value for the great wealth of information and enjoyment provided.' (Celeste Gagnon, Project Manager, Mylor Yacht Harbour Ltd., 06.05.08)'David wisely refrains from overwhelming us with too much technical information. Instead he provides us with all we need to know as starters. ... colour photographs alone are superb: fully indexed with all manner of extra information' (The Cornishman, 01.05.08)'A perfect size and shape to fit into any day bag, the book feels hardwearing and solid. ...'If you want to impress your travelling friends and family with Latin names from Actinia fragacea to Xanthoria parientina it's all there ... Every page gives an easily digested amount of information' (The Sustainable Trust, 08.05.08)'informative and ... crammed with brilliant photographs. ... convenient for a large pocket, ... with just the right amount of information ...'Categorised in a manner that makes it very easy to use in a particular area, non-specialist language is used to highlight everything for the convenience of an experienced amateur.' (Vitality Matters, June 2008)'... this excellent guide gives details of cliffs, dunes, beaches, estuaries and rock pools. There is a list of places which give good sites for particular species. Not just fantastic photos, but unusually for this type of guide, excellent for identification.' (South West Coast Path Association News, Summer 2008)Pocket Cornwall books were shortlisted in the British Book Design and Production Awards 2008 in the Brand/Series identity category.
