About the Author :
Kenneth Sheedy is director of the Australian Centre for Ancient Numismatic Studies at Macquarie University, Sydney and associate professor in the Department of History and Archaeology. He is the author of The Archaic and Early Classical Coinages of the Cyclades, Royal Numismatic Society SP 40 (London 2006). He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the representative of the Academy for the SNG Australia Project at the Union Académique Internationale, and is the author of Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum Australia I. The Gale Collection of South Italian Coins (Sydney 2008). Gillan Davis is the Director of the Program for Ancient Mediterranean Studies at Macquarie University. He is the Managing Editor of the Journal of the Numismatic Association of Australia. He is a partner/collaborator in the international team based at the ENS Lyon investigating ‘Silver isotopes and the rise of money’.
