About the Author :
HELEN LAWRENCE had a critically acclaimed career as an opera singer, making her debut at the Royal Opera House in 1969. Since retiring in 2000, she has devoted her time to researching and writing history, arts promotion and voluntary activity in the Hampstead community. Her books include Music Art & Politics - A History of St Pancras and Camden Arts Festivals; and How Hampstead Heath was saved - A story of people power, 2019 (LAMAS award for Best Book 2019/20).
