About the Author :
Colonel Brindley Boon became a Salvation Army officer in 1950. He is internationally known as a journalist, songwriter and composer of vocal and brass band music and he has 150 published works to his credit. The colonel's appointments included editorship of 'The Musician', the Canadian edition of 'The War Cry' and the 'International War Cry'. He was Editor-in-Chief at International Headquarters (1973-1977) and retired officially from active service in 1979 after serving as Chief Executive Officer for the 1978 International Congress. From 1966 to 1972, Colonel Boon served as National Secretary for Bands and Songster Brigades in the British Territory. In retirement he gave much valued assistance to the International Music Editorial Department and, as Chairman, to the 1985 International Youth Congress. The colonel died in March 2009.
