About the Book

The first book from AD100 and Elle Decor A-List designer Huh is filled with her elegant, colorful work, while inspiring readers to create different moods at home.

Acclaimed designer Huh’s warm and welcoming interiors resonate with harmony, elegance, and dynamism, each room animated by sophisticated surface treatments, a singular play of pattern and color, and a touch of wanderlust. Her first book, composed of three distinct sections, is perfect for readers searching for sophisticated inspiration. Part one, A Mood, looks at decoration through the lens of mood: convivial, peaceful, joyful, cozy, verve, romantic, meaningful. For example, convivial spaces are ones that feel buzzy, excited, and alive, like an artist’s salon; they use lighting to draw people together and seating arrangements to connect. Peaceful interiors are refuges made for reading with a cup of tea on a rainy day, surrounded by warm, natural textures and quiet colors. The second part of the book, A Thought, features three full houses recently completed by Huh, including a chic forever home, an old house full of whimsy, and an airy Park Avenue penthouse. The final section of the book, A Feeling, is about Young’s own recently completed historic country house in upstate New York, from the pattern-filled rooms to the gardens and grounds, with images of life through the seasons. Together, these three sections make for a uniquely personal and beautiful book.

Zooey Deschanel is an acclaimed musician and actress. Jonathan Scott is the co-host of the TV series Property Brothers and its spinoffs.

Review :
ELLE DECOR'S 17 New Design Books We're Reading This Spring: "In her long-awaited debut monograph, ELLE Decor A-List designer Young Huh makes the case for emotion as the starting point of every good room. With a foreword by clients Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott, it’s as warm and layered as the room inside."

MANSION GLOBAL's 7 Inspiring Design Books for Spring:
"With high profile clients (Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott wrote the foreword) and a feature in AD under her decorating belt, “A Mood, A Thought, A Feeling: Interiors” ($55) is the first book from buzzy A-List designer Young Huh. But she is much more than a celeb decorator de jour. Each of the three sections in the book—A Mood, A Thought, A Feeling—looks at design through those prisms, resulting in a chic tableau of color, textures and lighting. Naturally, A Feeling is a personal look at her own home, a historic house in the country, that will inspire you to tap into your own feelings of home."

THE ENGLISH ROOM'S Best Spring Book Releases for Design Lovers: "Young Huh reminds us that great design starts with emotion—layered, personal, and full of soul."

"Huh says she immediately jibed with the couple’s design direction. “The first thing they told me was, ‘Nothing modern. We want a sense of history and we love color.’ ” The couple also shared Huh’s undying faith in the inalienable right to wallpaper patterns that make the heart race. (The collaboration was such a success that the couple have penned the foreword to Huh’s first monograph, A Mood, a Thought, a Feeling: Interiors, which will be published by Rizzoli next March.)" — ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST

"Designer Young Huh's wanderlust-evoking, sophisticated style comes to life in the pages of her debut book. It’s divided into three separate sections—A Mood, A Thought, and A Feeling—that help readers understand how to create design schemes from scratch for each room in their home." — VERANDA.COM

"The debut book from Young Huh is a lyrical exploration of how interiors shape emotion. Organized into three sections, the volume begins with “A Mood,” examining spaces defined by feeling—convivial rooms that buzz with energy, peaceful retreats designed for reflection and cozy interiors that encourage lingering. “A Thought” presents three recently completed homes, including a chic forever house and an airy Park Avenue penthouse, while “A Feeling” offers a deeply personal look at Huh’s own historic upstate New York country home, documented through the seasons. With a foreword by her clients Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott, the book highlights how intentional design can cultivate harmony, warmth and joy." — MODERN LUXURY

"Designer Young Huh’s first book features page after page of her warm and welcoming interiors. Her expert use of color results in rooms that capture more than a look, but an emotion." — RUE MAGAZINE

"In her debut book, AD100 and Elle Decor A-List designer Young Huh highlights the color-rich interiors that have made her work so unique. Organized into three sections, it first explores decorating through the lens of emotion—cozy, convivial, peaceful, romantic, and more—revealing how mood can guide everything from lighting to color palette. She then provides an in-depth look at three recently completed homes before turning to her own historic country residence in upstate New York. Filled with global references and aesthetic sensibility, the title mirrors Huh’s signature blend of dynamism, elegance, and harmony, giving readers an inspiring foundation for creating rooms with personalized interiors." — BOSTON HOME MAGAZINE
