About the Author :
Richard Moniz has been a director of library services for Johnson & Wales University since 1997 (in North Miami from 1997 to 2004 and in Charlotte from 2004 to the present). He has also, in the past, simultaneously served as head of information technology services and taught classes on various subjects, and has taught for the MLIS program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since 2006. He has published in numerous places and is the author of the textbook Practical and Effective Management of Libraries. He is actively engaged in the profession and has held a number of committee and board responsibilities within ALA LLAMA, ACRL CLS, and Metrolina Library Association. Jo Henry is currently the information services librarian at South Piedmont Community College. Formerly, she has worked at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and has over twenty years' experience in sports club management and instruction. She has published in Public Services Quarterly and Library Review, and has presented at the Metrolina Information Literacy Conference and the North Carolina Library Association Conference. Joe Eshleman has been the instruction librarian at Johnson & Wales University Library-Charlotte since 2008. During this time, he has taught numerous library instruction sessions. Prior to becoming a librarian, he was a systems administrator at Nucor Steel and an IT director at the science museum Discovery Place, both of which are located in Charlotte. He completed the Association of College and Research Libraries' immersion program in 2009 and has presented on numerous occasions, including the American Library Association Conference, the Lilly Education Conference, and the Teaching Professor Technology Conference.
