About the Book

This work is a study in integrative thinking: it contributes some paradigms toward a new worldview from the perspective of dialectical realism. Its central idea is that philosophical thinking leads to a higher enlightenment: illuminating the foundations of our beliefs as well as the horizon of our praxis. Hence the disparate interests of philosophical inquiry - its theoretical interest and its existential interest - find a dialectical integration here. The role of philosophy as a cultural healer is then articulated as a consequence.

About the Author :
The Author: Ash Gobar is an author who explores integrative thinking: his interests range from epistemology and ontology to the 'philosophy of life.' He pursued his studies in America (Ph.D./University of Wisconsin) and in Europe (Fellow/Universite de Geneve) and became Professor of Philosophy at Transylvania University. He has written, besides Philosophic Foundations of Psychology numerous essays in scholarly journals and he has contributed to several World Congresses of Philosophy. Now his Philosophy as Higher Enlightenment presents a worldview, from the perspective of dialectical realism, with wideranging implications for modern times.

Review :
Out of the paralysis of post-modernism at last comes a philosophy for the new world that (we have some reason to hope) is in the making; It is Ash Gobar's 'dialectical realism'... Lucidly and with great care he lays out the ontological and epistemological grounds of dialectical realism. The richness (of the work) stems in part from the author's equal attention to European and to Anglo-American sources... And the last part of the work points in the direction of the cultural reconstruction that will be needed to save our world from impending catastrophe... a richly rewarding and timely work. (David L. Norton, Author of 'Personal Destinies' and 'Democracy & Moral Development') A 'philosophical journey' towards an encompassing rational worldview in the light of the contributions of other disciplines... (including) very fine criticisms of some widespread and influential philosophies. (Josef Seifert, Internationale Akademie fuer Philosophie) Diagnostically brilliant and philosophically edifying. (D.R.C. Reed, Wittenberg University)
