About the Book

"The future belongs to those who see the possibilities before they become obvious... This is the most exciting time ever to be part of the business world." Throughout history, there are some events that stand out as so groundbreaking that they completely change life as we know it. The Apollo moon landing of 1969 was one of those events--the invention of the Apple personal computer was another. The time is ripe for a new breed of innovative entrepreneurs to build businesses across industries that will bring in billions of dollars--while changing people's lives for the better. In this book, John Sculley will show you how to do it. Former CEO of both PepsiCo and Apple, John Sculley lays out a roadmap for building a truly transformative business. Beginning with a can't-fail concept and inspired by smart data, Moonshot! reveals the core concepts for a twenty-first century business. Producer-in-Control models are a thing of the past, but the Customer-in-Control future is bright for those that know how to use it. With technology at your back, now might be the best time in history to start a business--but the future belongs to those who see the possibilities before they become obvious. Moonshot! will teach you to have the upper hand in any business.

About the Author :
John Sculley is one of America's best-known business leaders, with one foot in the storied history of Apple technology and the other in 21st-century innovations that change the way the world does business. His success stories include telecommunications, financial services, healthcare, high technology, internet services, consumer marketing, and outsourcing services. Drawing on more than 40 years of experience as a corporate executive, investor, entrepreneur, mentor, and rainmaker, Sculley has become a sought-after global storyteller for the digital revolution. He is a gifted speaker, sharing his perspectives on topics such as globalization and reinvention of work, how adaptive companies succeed in an era of the commoditization of almost everything, solving healthcare through innovation, and new big brand consumer health services. Best known today as the former CEO of Apple Computer, Sculley's corporate career began in 1967 when, armed with a Wharton MBA, he was hired by Pepsi-Cola Company as a trainee. Three years later, he became the company's youngest vice president for marketing, applying his ideas about "experience based marketing" to the Pepsi Generation campaign. He initiated the Pepsi Challenge taste tests, and oversaw development and launch of the first plastic soft drink bottle, which together dethroned Coca-Cola. By 1977, Sculley was Pepsi-Cola Company's youngest President & CEO. John Sculley's first book--Odyssey: Pepsi to Apple... a Journey of Adventure, Ideas and the Future--became a breakout business bestseller. His new book--MOONSHOT!: Game Changing Strategies How to Build a Billion Dollar Business--takes the reader one step further, sharing the secrets to John's success and how anyone can achieve in this changed business world.

Review :
"John Sculley, in his new book 'Moonshot!: Game-Changing Strategies to Build Billion-Dollar Businesses' argues that every entrepreneur now needs to think and act like one of those elite entrepreneurs who could go the extra mile and cause disruptive change... It's time to adopt the adaptive innovator entrepreneur mindset principles, capitalize on the game-changing new technologies, and go for the gold." - (Martin Zwilling Forbes Contributor) "The real question is, how many business-strategy books are published before leaders (and wannabes) say, "Please, sir, no more"? With a name and reputation that will open many doors and sell books, former CEO (PepsiCo and Apple) and now second-time author (Odyssey: Pepsi to Apple) Sculley delivers a clear message to individuals, entrepreneurs, and corporations: change . . . or wither. Although he never quite issues that ultimatum, it's clear from his 10 principles--such as customers come first, create a noble cause, solve a billion-dollar problem, pursue relentlessly, and practice disruptive pricing--that adaptability is key. The precepts of that vision are simple but still challenging for many. Stories are what make his principles live, though there isn't as much attention paid to execution. New wisdom for new entrepreneurs; timeless advice for leaders. - (Barbara Jacobs Booklist) "John Sculley, in his new book 'Moonshot!: Game-Changing Strategies to Build Billion-Dollar Businesses' argues that every entrepreneur now needs to think and act like one of those elite entrepreneurs who could go the extra mile and cause disruptive change It s time to adopt the adaptive innovator entrepreneur mindset principles, capitalize on the game-changing new technologies, and go for the gold. --Martin Zwilling "http: //www.forbes.com/sites/martinzwilling/2014/10/14/entrepreneurs-need-a-new-adaptive-innovator-mindset/print/ "" "The real question is, How many business-strategy books are published before leaders (and wannabes) say, Please, sir, no more ?
