About the Author :
CYNTHIA D MCCAULEY is a research scientist at the Center for Creative Leadership. Her research focuses on processes for enhancing leadership development: 360--degree feedback, formal programs, job assignments, and developmental relationships. She is coauthor (with Michael Lombardo) of Benchmarks, a widely used 360--degree feedback instrument. She coedited (with Russ Moxely and Ellen Van Velsor) The Center for Creative Leadership Handbook of Leadership Development. Cindy received her M.A. and Ph.D. in applied psychology from the University of Georgia. PATRICIA J. OHLOTT is a research associate at the Center for Creative Leadership. Her research interests include the career devleopment of women, the developmental impact of job assignments, and issues relating to management of diversity in organizations. She has published articles in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Development, and Personnel Psychology. She has a B.A. in psychology from Yale University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in business administration, with a concentration in organizational behavior, at Duke University. MARIAN N. RUDERMAN is a research scientist at the Center for Creative Leadership. Her research focuses on the career development of women and the impact of diversity on management development processes. She is coeditor (with Susan Jackson) of Diversity in Work Teams: Reserach Paradigms for a Changing Workplace. She has published articles in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Management Development. She has an M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan.
